FORMER Coronation street actor Linus Roache has been spotted looking completely different from his soap debut.

Linus, who is the son of Coronation street legend Bill Roache, looks unrecognisable compared to when he first took to the cobbles in 1973.

The star was the third actor to play Peter Barlow, the son of Bill’s character, Ken Barlow.

Since then, he has had a successful acting career, landing Hollywood roles in the likes of Homeland, Vikings, Law and Order and hit movie My Policeman.

Now, Linus looks completely different from his child-star days.

All grown up, the actor rocks grey locks and glasses and looks very similar to his famous dad.

Linus is the eldest of two brothers, who Bill shares with his first wife Anna Cropper.

The star took on the role of Peter Barlow at the tender age of nine, before several actors took over his spot, including current actor Chris Gascoyne, who started the role in 2000.

Linus later returned to the show in 2010 as Ken’s long-lost son, Lawrence Cunningham.

The Roache clan were then joined on-screen by Linus’ little brother James, who then proceeded to play his on-screen son, James Cunningham.

Bill has previously told UK Times how he is “enormously proud” of his son’s roles on the soap.

At the time he spoke of Linus’ actor career, stating: “When I’m in New York, no one bothers about me, it’s all about Linus.

“James is just getting started but will no doubt be just the same.”

It comes after Bill tragically lost his daughter Vanya at the age of 50 on March 4, 2018, due to liver failure.

He said at the time: “The pain of losing a child is unbearable.

“To not be able to say goodbye to Vanya was awful but I take some comfort in knowing she is in a better place and at peace.

“But your children going before you is horrendous.”
