THERE are certain baby names which are like Marmite – you either love them or hate them.

But one anonymous woman, who is from the US, couldn’t hold back her very strong feelings on a moniker her friend had chosen for her newborn baby girl.

Taking to Reddit, she explained: “A family friend named her daughter Hazelynn.

The first kid’s named Paisley. I hate Paisley with every fibre of my being, but it is a real name so, whatever!”

But Hazelynn?! Wtf is that and why?”

And it wasn’t long before the comments section was flooded with responses – with many in agreement they weren’t massive fans of the chosen name.

“One of my family members named her daughter Maizlynn…not sure which is worse,” wrote one.

In response, a second quipped: “I’m gonna say Maizlynn only because little Hazelynn can lie and go by Hazel. Poor Maizlynn is stuck with corn.”

Another suggested that maybe she can go by “Hazel” for short, to which someone else admitted: “I would if my mom named me Hazelynn.

“She could have named her Hazel-Lynn or Hazel middle name Lynn instead of mashing it into one.”

A further added: “I have a friend that named her daughter this, she calls her Hazy. I hate it with every fibre of my soul.”

In reply, a forum user penned: “That was the name of my grey cat growing up.”
