A HUGE five-bedroom mansion has hit the market for just under £1million.
But eagle-eyed house hunters claim the sprawling property in Alberta, Canada, shares an uncanny resemblance with a PRISON.
Spread over two-storeys, the home – built in 1980 – is surrounded by a brick wall with large security gates and is on the market for $1,475,000.
Once through the gates, visitors are welcomed into a massive front entrance flanked by cascading Greek-style columns.
It also boasts a monstrous garage with space for seven cars and an epic James Bond-style underground area that can hold an additional three motors.
But prospective buyers have commented on the property’s two watchtowers.
While the estate agent describes the rooms as a sunroom and an observatory respectively – savvy viewers can’t help but feel they look just like a prisons observation tower looking over the house’s ‘yard’.
Users took to online forum Reddit to share their thoughts.
One person joked: “Must be a place for rich ex convicts who want to be reminded of their time in the big house.”
While another referenced the iconic 1995 prison drama Shawshank Redemption starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins – where the characters tunnel out of prison and escape to Mexico.
They said: “I like that they paved the whole yard so you can’t discretely sprinkle sand down your pant leg from your escape tunnel. Smart.”
Another chimed: “To be fair, if the place comes with sprinklers, I can throw a teenager’s friend out of the doors.”
It is the inside of the home – which is spread over 1.13 acres – that explains the property’s hefty price tag.
The house has an indoor pool complete with two slides and a poolside area to chill out in.
There is even a built in BBQ area and steam room for added luxury.
A personal cinema is also on offer in the mansion where you can nestle in and enjoy Hollywood blockbusters from the comfort of your home.
A games room with a pool table and bar are also on offer in the extraordinary property.
Meanwhile, sporty types will be lured by the gym and tennis court which accompany the property.
And foodies will be in culinary heaven in the spacious kitchen with a commercial grade stove, granite counters, large island and two fridges.
A massive lounge and a library – which can be used as an office – complete the ground floor.
A grand wooden staircase takes residents up to five spacious bedrooms, four bathrooms and two smaller bathrooms.
